Founded in 2021 by a veteran of the elevator industry, Ritter Elevator Consulting is a woman-owned small business serving Cleveland businesses and specializing in elevator management consulting and expert project management. With 30 years in the elevator industry and over 15 years in Cleveland, Ritter Elevator Consultants advocate for property owners and managers through construction and modernization projects and elevator maintenance oversight. We assist clients in determining the optimal elevator solutions for their project, understanding that each client is unique and requires specific collaboration and problem solving. As local consultants and long-term members of the community, we take a personal approach to consulting as opposed to a corporate “one size fits all” approach.

Liz Ritter

Founder/Consultant

Liz Ritter at her core is a customer advocate! She has spent years working for elevator companies as an account manager but most recently felt strongly drawn to the role of elevator consultant. She wanted to work exclusively as the customers’ advocate.

Liz Ritter started her career at Otis Elevator in the HQ Finance Department immediately after graduating from Penn State University. She spent 8 years at Otis in both finance and sales in Connecticut and upstate New York and received her MBA from University of Connecticut. After moving several times, she landed in Cleveland in 2007 with Schindler Elevator as the downtown service account manager.

Over the last 15 years, the building owners and managers of Cleveland have become some of her best friends! For this reason, in January 2022, she decided to take a leap and start her own firm to better serve the business owners and managers with obtaining quality elevator & escalator service.

She truly wants to partner with business owners and managers to protect their assets and reduce their liability. She wants to ask the critical questions and ensure the proper performance and compliance with contract terms for all of her clients.

JIM Ritter

Consultant

Always managing offices with a focus on customer satisfaction, Jim was excited to join Liz’s company.  Being an elevator consultant for Ritter Elevator Consulting allows him to focus on improving customer’s satisfaction in the elevator industry, which has become a very profit driven industry. 

Jim started his career at Otis Elevator in service and new equipment sales in upstate New York after graduating from Georgia Tech with an industrial engineering degree. He spent 6 years with Otis Elevator and received his MBA from Syracuse University. He then spent the next 24 years with Schindler Elevator working in positions of increasing responsibility in sales, management and executive management.

During his 30 years in the OEM elevator space, he took note that the offices he managed with the greatest focus on customers and customer satisfaction were consistently the most successful. He carries that customer focus with him in this consulting role and hopes to influence the OEM companies to center the needs of their customers and realize the benefit of that shift.
